About the League

Your team will practice once a week for six weeks on a selected night - Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 6:45pm - 8:15pm. Each 6-week session finishes with a celebratory cookout and race. No previous rowing experience is necessary.


Team Information

Create a team of 8-10 people (men/women/co-ed)! Gather your friends, family, and co-workers.  Get in touch with us and we'll help make sure everyone is signed up and ready to go.  We'll send you a waiver for everyone to sign and share other news about the upcoming session!


Registration includes

  • 6 weeks of rowing, 1 practice per week
  • Expert coaching and a coxswain to steer the boat
  • All rowing and safety equipment
  • A cookout celebration and final race

CHARLES RIVER ROWING LEAGUE: 3 STEPS TO SUCCESS


  • STEP 1: CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE/TIER

Tier 1:
For teams with no prior rowing experience, Learn the basics of rowing, both as an individual and as a boat member. Utilize all of CRI's training tools to prepare for the CRRL final race (including: Concept 2 Ergometer, 12-person rowing catamaran, 8-person Vespoli Racing Shell)
Tier 2:
For teams with some prior rowing experience, at least 2 sessions in the CRRL. Continue to develop technical skills as an individual and as a crew Prepare to race in the CRRL final race as well as the CRI Fall Classic, a 5km Regatta.
Head of the Charles
For teams committing to rowing in all sessions of the CRRL. Focused on developing finer-point technical skills, building rowing-specific endurance, and race tactics. Prepare to race in the CRRL final race, the CRI Fall Classic in September, and the Head of the Charles Regatta in October (as a part of the Director's Cup Challenge - Mixed 8+ Event)

  • STEP 2: PICK A NIGHT / GATHER YOUR TEAM / GET SIGNED UP

    3 Sessions: Session 1 (Spring) - Session 2 (Summer) - Session 3 (Summer/Fall)
    Practice Nights: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays
    Practice Times: 6:45pm - 8:15pm

    With state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and experienced coaching staff, CRI is able to provide a variety of rowing programs to all active duty and reserve military service members, veterans, and military families.
